Looking for a handkerchief in a muddle of a drawer,
stumble over faded letters from a long lost love.
Never tidy drawers that might contain such treasure.
Never turn out old pockets for the river of your story.
Leave memories undisturbed to gather dust
for it’s better to forget than to regret.

Welcome back. No, I have hardly missed a day since I started in April 2014, except when I’ve been in hospital, and then my daughter posted for me.

Oh, this is good. Somehow, I imagined lavender sachets in that drawer, too! Nostalgic and wise.

But who knows where those stories may lead! Nice poem!

Ah. But I wonder if it holds even if there’s a chance to relive one of those memories? 🙂 Interesting piece, Viv.

It depends on the happiness or otherwise of the memory
