Departure is poignant: missing them already
Last week’s flurry of family visitors was followed this week by the return of fellow blogger Crowing Crone Joss and her husband Gerard after a year of exploring their French roots. They must have covered most of the Hexagon during their travels, sleeping in the car. They came back to pack up and say goodbye, before taking off for Canada. We have so much enjoyed getting to know them – they feel like old friends to us. It is only fitting that we should finish as we started, with lunch at the bistrot in the village.

I know what you mean. I have had a summer full of departures, and the house always seems so empty when visitors have gone.

🙂 Ah, the bistrot in the village. Sounds soooo nice, homey and French and all.
I’ll have a pot of moules, please. I know you enjoyed their company more than the food.

I did. It is homey: I get three kisses there. My confit de canard had a mustard sauce, and I loathe mustard!
