Scrap Happy Quadrille

Guilty Quilty Quadrille

I confess,
to buying fabric yesterday
though my oversized scrap bin
spills a glorious coloured fabric-fall
crying out for use in another scrap quilt..
I couldn’t resist the siren lure
of the jewel hues of textile
shouting at me from the
quilt shop shelves.

Kate at Tall Tales from Chiconia hosts a Scrap Happy Wednesday challenge, and although I am in fact busy quilting a weird and wonderful hexagon-shaped quilt at the moment, the Quadrille poem above is absolutely true, and conforms to the dVerse Monday Quadrille challenge to write a 44 -word poem containing the word “spill”.

wonky hexagon quiltI must have made a dozen scrap quilts in the last couple of years, in an attempt to eliminate the pile, but it still keeps growing!   This one is dafter than usual in that the entire quilt is hexagon-shaped!

Gorgeous patterns and colors. Reminds me of when my mother used to be able to quilt.

Ah, we all have our vices and addictions! The bad habit of creativity and addiction to beauty – could be a lot worse! The poem delights me, and the photos illustrate it beautifully.

“Siren lure” is absolutely correct! Worse, the scraps breed like rabbits in spite of our best efforts to contain them!

  6. I love your fabric fall. And don’t worry – I don’t quilt myself, but all the quilters I know have fabric pile guilt. I think it goes with the territory.

I am a lousy seamstress so I have to be careful when I go into a fabric store because the lure of color and textures overwhelms me. I have a lovely 2 yard piece waiting for me to massacre it!

Ohmygoodness! I LOVE those colors! Quilting is on my list of “things-to-do-when-my-life-slows-down”. I can’t wait to have a waterfall of scraps to photograph!

I love your waterfall of scraps! And that hexagon shaped quilt is truly worthy.
Strictly speaking, ScrapHappy isn’t only on Wednesdays, it’s on the 15th of each month, and happens on whatever day that date falls. This month, it’s a Wednesday 🙂
