Disillusion Wordle 204

Wild beginnings of romance,
wilder imaginings of a stolen future
broke through the clay of humdrum ordinary.
Momentary fulfilment before
tongues whispered the power of malice
burned sleep with jealous flame,
destroyed my dream.
I am alone.

Pure fiction!

I would sincerely hope it is fiction. Again, you have succeeded in persuading some unlikely friends to form an accord.

  4. What a sad tale. It puts me in mind of the malice of teenage girls, who dash each others’ dreams as a hobby. Older and hopefully wiser, I like to think that no one worth having would give the time of day to rumor-mongers.

A powerful write……..you have described well how malicious tongues can destroy a dream.

Like this Viv. Short and succinct, but packed with imagery that tells a story with a punch on the end. Whew!

Ah, yes, the illusion of romantic love. It’s fun to see how we all handed “am” – and you brought us to alone. – Richard

“Burned sleep with jealous flame” is absolutely divine…..especially since we know it’s fiction!! And, now I see what you meant by your comment about mine being the happy ending to yours 😉

Ah, so happy to see someone I recognise (from almost a year ago when I last wrote)! And with such a powerful poem as well. It may be fiction for you (thankfully), but it sure hit home with me… Brilliantly done!

How fleeting romance and pleasure is in the grand scheme of life…but to be alone doesn’t always have to be bad..we can always dream new dreams…

Loneliness is the pits, but that is where the words channeled us. There is always next week then we can try again!
