Wordle 195 – Resolve

It makes no sense to condemn
a person for religion, race or gender.
Such intolerance can render the world
intolerable for all.
The bigot’s list is endless
and leaves a nasty smell.
Violence generates more violence
out of fear or for revenge.
Better far capitulate, educate, persuade,
treat every single person
as precious and make this your crusade.

My poem is a response to the horrible events of this week in Paris.  I didn’t use them all.   More interpretations can be found at Brenda’s Sunday Whirl

Great line: The bigot’s list is endless.

  5. Indeed.. a balance of what’s right and what is not.. still opening my mouth I might offend someone.. so some tolerance against what is offensive is also needed…every single person precious .. I like that.

That line right in the middle–“The bigot’s list is endless”– pretty well sums up last week’s tragic events in Paris, doesn’t it?

Quite right, Viv. Not apt to happen though, but then I’m a bit pessimistic at the moment.

  14. Sadly they have no desire or willingness to be educated or persuaded. But we have to try. A poignant piece at a dreadful time.
