IDENTITY

At thirteen-thirty GMT
on December tenth
nineteen hundred and sixty-two
I stopped being Vivienne
and became Mum
and then in August nineteen ninety-three,
I changed my name again
to Grandma.
What next?

At The Poets’ Pub they are talking about who we are, and where we belong.  I am shortly to add another identity – that of Great-great-aunt!   Where I belong?  English by birth,  French resident by choice.

PS  Great-great-nephew Steffan Isaiah is born.

Refreshing to read a light-hearted response to the prompt…short but oh so sweet…the date so important as it changed us forever..and so the circle goes on..

  7. Ugh..i’ll try not to look above in the comments for the answer..but if only math would have it..with the 20 year and 5 month interval this month you might be a great grandma as we are T-minus less than 4 months from August…2014…

Seeing so above..now that this cannot be true..
i suppose the great grandma title will have to come quite a bit later..:)

I hope it is a few years before you become a great grandma – your eldest grandchild (my nephew) needs to see a bit of life before settling down I would say. My son, although his voice is starting to break and his feet are size 7s, is far too young. Sally
