February already – Spring not far away?
I have a gift for stating the obvious! This morning I slept in until eight am, and only woke because it was LIGHT through the slats in the blind. I can remember a February in Normandy when we ate in the garden, but I don’t think that will be happening this year – it’s still cold, wet and windy with rare blinks of sunshine.
Usually by now the roadside banks are starred with primroses, but their cheerful faces are still in hiding. At least we’re not flooded like swathes of England or frozen solid like huge tracts of North America, nor roasting in the Southern hemisphere. We have much to make us thankful.

At least we have the consolation, when you get spring, of still being in the summery part of our autumn and winter.

I am thrilled that you have sun, and your wonderful hat has arrived and VERY warm and soft it is too. Just in time as well .. the temps plummet again tommorrow.. I will be wearing it nonstop for a while now! Spring.. not here, not ever i think, e are going to be stuck under all this snow and ice forever!.. c

After a gloomy start, the day has been utterly gorgeous, with beautiful blue sky and sunshine pouring into the sitting room. Still windy though. I love the snowdrops in your garden, you have some doubles, I seem to remember.

We’re covered in snow here in Chicago–with more coming down as I type. It’s supposed to continue until tonight. On the positive side–it’s staying light out longer and longer each day!

It is the Wet season in Malawi, torrential rain. In Australia it is summer – hot days and clear blue skies.

It’s a glorious day here, but cold. The lounge, the warmest room in our house, is freezing. I got back into bed because it’s warmer.

I love this time of year when the daylight hours seem to be lengthening – it feels like hope is in sight. It’s a lovely sunny day at the shore today with high tide so lots of waves and splashing.
