Weird WordPress

The new arrangement for posting is weird:  I had prepared my post this morning and pressed Publish when the internet went down.  The poem had disappeared when I could go online again, with no “draft” that I could find on the new system, so I laboriously  put the post together again,
Now both are published, and the comments are split.  Does anyone know of a way to amalgamate them?

No idea, Viv, sorry. I use Live Writer so missed the introduction to the new platform. When I first saw it the other day, the beeping thing put me off instantly. Things will settle down… I’m sure!

All you can do is an edit, saying in effect, ‘Yes, I know that this is a duplicate but they both have comments so I’m not going to zap either of them’.

I don’t think there’s a way of re-threading comments from one post to another. I suspect deleting one post would also delete all comments threaded to it. I’m also struggling with this new format. I’ve yet to hear anything positive about it so far.

    • Thanks Misky. I guess we just grin and bear it until the new format settles down. There are always hiccups at the start of WordPress “improvements”!

I just uploaded a post, and now WordPress is giving me the option to revert to the Old Create Post format. It’s a pop-up when you first start creating a new post, and you’re given an option. Try yours and see if it’s there, Viv.

I don’t know the answer to your question, but I have been struggling with the new method of creating posts, too. I hope WordPress gets the bugs out of this, quickly. Thanks for this post.
