Saying Goodbye

IMG_0924 (2)Thank you for all the messages of condolence and poems dedicated to Viv.  We know that many of you are scattered around the world and it is heartening to know that her blogging presence has spread so widely and is so much appreciated.  Some of you who are closer at hand have already asked about funeral arrangements.  This will be held on Wednesday 20 July at West Road Crematorium in Newcastle upon Tyne at 1:15pm.  Some of you will have met her, others may only have done so via her online activities but anyone who would like to come along, and is able to do so, would be most welcome.  We will follow the funeral with some light refreshments at a location still to be arranged.  Please, if you would like to come along, leave us a message so that we can have an idea of numbers.

Viv specifically asked for no flowers but that any donations be given to cancer research.  If anyone does feel that they would like to make a donation we have set up a Just Giving page for this.

I am selfishly hoping you will keep her blog open. On days when missing her is huge, I come here and wander through here and there and say goodbye once again. I kerp thinking how nice it would be to put together a book of her words. We could call it Our ViV.

I was so saddened to receive news today about Viv – I’ll be there in spirit also. Sending love from Melbourne and gratitude for the short time I had been in touch with Viv and been given some time in her world.

It is so thoughtful of you to take the time from your own grieving to think of the many hearts that she has touched from far away. We will miss her dearly at dVerse. One of the last comments I made to Viv was that I was sending her some sunshine from Canada as her weather was a bit dreary. So I am sending a little sunshine your way and I will be there in spirit. Wishing you peace and comfort at this time.

Sally I’m shocked! You might know I’m just back from the Algarve. I had noticed that Viv didn’t post her 6 words just before I left, but thought I must have missed her. I’ve just found time to come and look for her and I’m too late. I’m so sorry! She was a wonderful lady and so full of spirit. I’m not sure if I will be able to attend but I will get there if I can. You will all miss her so much. I’m truly sorry.

It’s such a good gesture of her to leave a wish with cancer donation, I will do my donation hoping they accept a brazilian card.

I wish I could be there but most of all I wish I could’ve met her face to face rather than just Skype and blogs, I got so fond of her that the news shocked me in a way that there’s no explanation.

I hope you and your brother are dealing well with this loss, she was a great Mum! I’ll be there in spirit on the 20th,

My condolences to you and Jock, dear Sally as well as your dear husband and the children. I so wish I could be there. I will go sit by the river here, next Wednesday, and remember her as you say your farewells on the other side of the world. I was blessed to call her friend and hold her tenderly in my heart.
