Girls’ night for film and popcorn
Jock’s away, and K very kindly fetched me for a girls’ night in at the Mill
It was a beautiful evening and the garden was full of colour and bees, so I took lots of pictures. Then we settled down in squishy cushioned chairs for a weepy wallow.
Oh dear! The film had been wiped. Never mind, the popcorn was not wasted and we had a lovely chatty time with old property programmes on TV.
I decline to re-open the topic of the day – too depressing.
The back garden at the Mill was made after Jock terraced and built stone walls and steps and toiled for the better part of a year. This was the first time I had seen it in full summer glory, and I reckon it was worth the effort.
I also had the chance to photograph the wall hanging I made for K & S’s wedding present:
Do pop over to Cate’s place for more 6-w-Saturdays.
“Jock’s garden” turned out really nice, just right for all those flowers.
Too bad you couldn’t watch the movie. Was it a chick flick?
The popcorn sounds yummy. I am surprised so many of the ladies could still eat popcorn. My doctor has taken that pleasure away. But he was right, I have less pain without it, seeds, and the like.
I’m still blogging on both blogs, journal-like stuf on one and my ‘poems’ on the other.

The popcorn was a sin by special dispensation! I’ve no idea what the film was – it was supposed to be a surprise!

It was the popcorn, coupled with friends, that made the evening worthwhile.

Absolutely. It must be 50 years since I last had popcorn. I’d forgotten how good it is.

Nothing wrong with your photos, Viv. It’s always harder to get a good shot of borders than of individual plants. Jock’s done a great job. 🙂 Cate’s post is up now, by the way.

Beautiful garden. I would like many hours there. Your Bargello is lovely as well. I have never attempted one but love seeing them. Girls nights are good for us at any age.

Certainly worth the effort! The gardens look beautiful.
If I was married to somebody called Jock I would have to make him go off quite a lot just for the pleasure of being able to say ‘Jocks Away!’ – but then I’m easily amused 😉
