Pindaric Ode
O candidate prime
food for the Gods,
ambrosial addiction
smooth and sweet
tempered, shaped or melted ─
flawless fantasy.
Yesterday’s prompt here was to write an ode to something that feels like an indulgence : a specific food, a nap, raucous sex, travel, etc or to write an ode to indulgence itself.
The photo is of my seriously sinful chocolate cake.
Oooo yum! May I come live with you?

Looks and sounds delicious. Strong coffee rich with cream, no sugar please. And yes, I’ll take a small piece. I read your recipe for sinful chocolate cake, and bookmarked it. Thank you!

Chocolate cake, my favourite. Nice, Viv. I didn’t see you over at Elizabeth’s, so I wasn’t sure, if you were still continuing. Glad to see you are.

I’m so very far behind and truly not ignoring you. The cake looks scrumptious and the poem just as sweet.

Sorree. But if you follow the link, you’ll find out how to make it. Be warned, there are vast quantities of 80% chocolate involved.

If, as I suspect, it’s a cake I can eat, I’ll happily share your indulgence with this one!

I think we’ve discussed this one earlier – my Chocolate Jaffa Torte is more or less the same idea. Hmmm. I think it may be time for some cake… Lemon syrup drizzle this time.
