Wordle 244 Haiku chain for Easter Sunday

Your names are many,
oh God of many forms ─
rescue earthly life

Words are not enough ─
enlighten the misguided
blow smoke from our minds

Banish three pebbles ─
distrust, fear and violence
from beneath our feet

Banish the phantoms ─
open minds to truth and love
straighten crooked ways

Banish all discord ─
so we grow in harmony
with water of peace

O God please hear us ─
lead the world to unity
peace and kindness

for Brenda’s Sunday Whirl – I used all the words except moon
in my haiku chain.–

  2. I especially like the repetition of your word, “banish.” It calls upon God to do something very real, and oh, the frustration of unanswered prayers. This is a psalm for the ages. Thank you, Viv.

I really like the imagery of ‘blow smoke from our minds’–it seems so vitally important somehow because smoke clouds and, also, where there’s smoke, there’s fire!

Sadly we have many centuries of distrust and oppression to overcome before before we can accept differences in our beliefs. Killing each other should be the last option not the first.but sadly each of us carries the past with us.

I particularly like the third verse in this powerful chain – words can feel hollow if they are not joined up with action perhaps…how wonderful it would be to wash away distrust, fear and violence
