Finished in the nick of time
for Charline’s birthday on Tuesday, though I still have to make the cushion filler. For the purpose of the picture I stuffed an old cushion inside the new cover. If I have time I’ll do some more quilting in the lime spaces, as they look a bit bare at the moment. I have used every scrap of that gorgeous turquoise fabric.
Next project? Kate in Queensland is making a quilt using teal and cream, as a fundraiser for ovarian cancer support and I’ve promised a block or two. Never having made a pineapple block, I thought this was an ideal opportunity to try, and I found some lovely fabrics at my local quilt shop. Here they are with the start of a practice piece, hoping the teal fits with Kate’s ideas.
Continuing my wind-up towards Napowrimo next month…
Fingers of frost
claw back the onward march of spring ─
season in reverse
I love those teals you found Viv, especially the one with the little birds. I’ve never done a pineapple block before either so I look forward to seeing how you get on.

It’s not looking brilliant – I may have to start again.

Oh! Is it paper piecing? I haven’t tackled much of that yet.

No. It would probably look better if paper pieced, but I find that REALLY boring! No, it’s a kind of log cabin with knobs on!

Good haiku, lovely colours and a very nice cushion (working backwards 🙂 ) You should feel thoroughly self satisfied 🙂 Happy Sunday, Viv!

Anything but! I know that my work is nowhere near as good as it used to be.
Happy Sunday to you, Jo.

love the colours in that cushion , so cheery. The teal with birds flying seems very fitting for the project – hope takes wing!
