Wordle 235 – Tug o’ War

I groaned when I saw the Wordle words, unable to find even a glimmer of poetry, though Im sure you will find some inspiring writing at The Sunday Whirl.

Tug o’ War – a Haibun

The fight was fixed. That is an indisputable fact, though why the team would risk an action so easy to detect remains a mystery.  The state committee debated for hours but the end was inevitable: the anchorman was hit with a heavy fine and the team was banned from competition for a year.

The moral is clear ─
fight fair
and obey the rules

  2. Good gravy, I didn’t even know what a haibun was. Now I’m slightly better educated thanks to my visits here. I learn so much from you. You did an impressive job with those words.

In spite of the groaning, you executed a lovely haibun!! I groan when I see haibun challenges because I find them particularly difficult to accomplish….so kudos to you for crafting these tricky words into a haibun 🙂

You are not the only one that groaned. I should have tried a haibun too; congratulations on the result.

I like how the words have guided us – although yes..a few groans..this piece is tightly written and i love the combination of prose and verse…seems relevant to current affairs..

I like how you used the words. What you describe sounds a great deal how I felt when I saw them.
