Conjunctions

 

Thread and stitches or knots
make clothes to keep us warm.
Cement, glue, staples, nails and screws
make furniture to give us rest
and homes to keep us safe.
Roads, railways, tunnels,
seaways and airways
all link us across distance.

Whether real or metaphorical,
when joints and links fail,
as seems to be happening
on larger and larger scale
the world goes kerflooey
in chaos, conflict and confusion,
so nurture those connections.

Margo Roby  wants us to think about connections, list all things we can think of that join: the conjunctions of life. Obvious: bridges (which I wrote about  here) Not so obvious: the ear canal. Be literal.  Be metaphorical .
