A Futile Quest

The pursuit of happiness,
is surely a waste of time.
It arrives or it doesn’t,
whether we chase it or no,
a track leading only to frustration.

Be kind, work hard, laugh and enjoy,
use what talents we’re given,
take our chances when they come.
All we can do is our best
and the rest may follow.

I just noticed that I haven’t posted for 5 days – OK I’ve been otherwise occupied, but that’s no reason to neglect my faithful friends. Worse,  I haven’t written anything for five days either, so to plug the gap I give you an oldie.  Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible.

I would rather pursue contentment, a humbler and more attainable goal. I find happiness often follows! Viv, you are excused writing duties while Christmas and family are here 🙂
