The tree is up and twinkling,
winking through the window
to tell the world it’s Christmas ─
well nearly – just look at that:
golden baubles,
lacy snowflakes
home-made stuff
and yards of tinsel tat.
Sorry about the photo. I forgot to take it last night while it was dark, and you can’t see much against the morning light.
I’ve spent two afternoons stuffing dates for gifts. Good job we’re out for Christmas Day and Boxing Day, or where would we eat?
Later today:
I’m not overly keen on dates but these look gorgeous.

I like your poem. I will say, “Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle all the way!”
And, Ho ho ho, Merry Christmas to you and Hubby.

Sweet little tree. The dates look good. Don’t think I’ve ever had them stuffed. Have a very Happy Christmas and Boxing Day.

Lovely, and a very happy Christmas to you both. And, yes, I’m ready for Strictly also.

My decorations are going up tomorrow, last Sunday of Advent. I don’t struggle with pseudo-European snow and holly, my decorations are a bit spartan and white, silver and pink, to suit a hot climate better. I adore my delicate, spindly fibre-optic tree with ever-changing colours twinkling at the ends of the branches…
