Quilty Question

Having heaved a huge sigh of relief on finishing the huge Quilt “Scrappy” (which is going to be auctioned for the Telethon) I set about designing and making a Christmas table runner for a friend’s 75th birthday.   I finished the piecing yesterday and have sandwiched it today , by the bagging method.  Now I can’t think how to quilt it.  Any ideas, quilty friends?  I have a couple of weeks leeway, for hand quilting.

How about a circle inside each square, which will end up linked across the piece? It will be a nice contrast with the straight lines, it’s not hard to trace the design, and it’s a bit less conventional than a continuous pattern.

  3. I’m not a quilter, so I have no ideas, except to say the piece you’ve displayed is quite lovely. Appreciation for the art is all I am capable of. LOL.

I don’t really know but would it lend itself to a diagonal grid do you think? Or is that too boring?
