Octpowrimo 24: Part II

I’d just posted my 6-word Saturday, which contained my poem for the Octpo prompt from Friday, A Drop in the Ocean.  Jock came in and read it over my shoulder, then he laughed and told me an old story.  Spark to my tinder.   Blow me, but when I looked at the Octpo prompt for today, it was to write a story poem, so I had to carry on writing!

A dedicated scientist in a weekend-quiet laboratory
looked through his powerful microscope
at an atom

He zoomed and zoomed and found that atom
became separate blobs and dots
he carried on

Until he realised that the image
he was looking at was
a universe

Fascinated, he zoomed on in
found a planet remarkably
similar to Earth

Continuing to zoom
he found a room
and there

He saw a tiny man at a laboratory bench
looking down the lens
of a microscope
