Galumphing along as best I can
I hold the tail of Mama in front
who holds the tail in front of her
and so ad infinitum.
The earth shakes with each mighty step ─
in unison we march to the general’s call
My legs are short, I’m out of puff
I think I’ll fly away.
A music prompt at mindlove misery’s menagerie tempted me this morning.
Also linked at Octpowrimo where the prompt was to use a scene from a favourite film as a starting point. The Jungle Book is a film I put on when ill or depressed and wishing I could fly away.
I love how you wove all those images and memories into your poem 😀

“My legs are short, I’m out of puff” This one I know because I was the runt of the litter. Trying to keep up with them was hard puffing work.
Thanks for visiting 1sojournal and for your encouraging words.

Jungle Book’s always good for cheering up, Viv! In fact, most of the Disneys 🙂
