My thoughts go round In circles,
I don’t know what to do,
to go or stay,
stay or go.
I must decide on what to do.
My thoughts go round in circles.
Mary at dVerse set the puzzle of writing a poem which reads the same backwards as forwards. I struggled and scribbled, scribbled and deleted, and this is the best I could do.

This was so silky smooth that I didn’t even notice the mirrored stanza at first. Maybe it made me dizzy! Great job. 🙂

You’ve created a poem that is chasing its own tail. 🙂 Nicely done.

Don’t see why one needs to be rigid! You’ve made a perfect variation and that is asked for in poetry-writing. Wonderful write Viv!

Circles is an apt topic for this form…they’re tricky but I think this piece is succinct and I like the variations you put in as well.

I did not do this prompt because yesterday was so disastrously busy and worrisome. And here, in a few lines, you have written a top knotch poem! I am going to do one for OLN I think. And yes, you have to do another one because this one was so very good!!! Sometimes I get to vibrating so between decisions and this poem nailed that feeling.

Actually your quandary led you to a profound truth, for all of life is on the Great Wheel, & moving in a circle is embracing the cycle, reliving/refreshing the past ending up exactly where we started beyond the veil. Your mirror is tiny, pocket or purse size, but your effort is appreciated, & your results are accurate; next up the hand mirror, then the one over the sink, then full length on the door before tackling the distorted images from the Funhouse.

This made me smile, Viv 🙂 Like when my husband says, “We have to go” and then keeps talking!

I understand the feeling, viv. The first time I wrote a palindrome I felt lost. Since then I have written two more. It was much easier.

So I must try again? Oh dear.

I think you captured the situation of being stuck, not knowing where to go or stay ~ My mind will run in circles too ~

If you move in circles it’s easy to end up going nowhere… Hopefully it spirals towards something at least

Tight little piece. There was a song once, “Should I stay or should I go”
Not always an easy choice – but nicely done to the form.
