Two for the Price of One

Mindlovermisery suggests we listen to Debussy for haiku inspiration.  My favourite piece by Debussy is his Première Arabesque, fiendish though I found it to play, with its odds in one hand against evens in the other.

Silvery droplets
fall sweetly on the listener
in ballet sublime

A second prompt on this site wants us to weave a tale about a hero.

 Tanka Hero

With infectious smile
indomitable spirit
Mandela sought peace
though reconciliation
a very long time coming

Thanks for the music link. I enjoyed relaxing to it and imagining ballet being performed.

I also like the sculpture and your wise words that went along with it.

Thanks for visiting my GRACE piece.

Thanks for including Tale Weaver’s prompt about heroes in your post. A beautiful tribute to someone who was heroic in all senses of the word.

  3. Is that bottom photo a sculpture? It’s fantastic.

Didn’t recognise the title, but am familiar with the music though not through trying to play it! The haiku fits well.
Your hero tale is excellently done, and I’m glad you chose my image for it.

These are both very good. I particularly liked the haiku. Something about the rhythm of the words reminded me of ballet music

Both beautiful, Viv. Form suits you well here, and amazing choice of language.
