Meteorological Reflections

Euphoria of resplendent spring eroded
into amorphous grey blob all around.
Columns of ants in the bathroom
and the tax return awaits attention.
Nothing seems to matter much
and  everything  annoys  me.

Another wet day, the fourth in a row
not conducive to cheerfulness, and no,
not the end of the world quite yet, so
I’ll put on a smile, dress nicely and go
for a stroll.  That’s me being positive.

  1. Rain, gray skies, ants and TAXES. Arrrrgh! Wish I could send you some sun, and that you could reciprocate with a bit of rain. :0)

  2. I don’t need gray skies to make me feel low. I had a bit of that this morning; feeling sorry for myself and I hear the other little voice say with great annoyance, God gave you a life, for goodness sake. Use it well. So I too got out of bed and put on the coffee. I may not put on a fine dress but I will cheerfully work on a quilt today. It’s hard to always stay positive but you write about in such a wonderful way that it makes it worth it. 🙂 Wondered if you ever got your quilt to be a satisfactory one?

  3. Amen to your efforts for positive motion and this:

    “Nothing seems to matter much
    and everything annoys me.”

    Boy…that resonates!!

    Nicely gathered, Viv.

I tried all kinds of things to get rid of the ants – in the end, WD40 sprayed around all possible entrance points and on their little highways did the trick. Hope the weather brightens up for you – and yes, making yourself look nice does help 🙂

Oh, and I forgot to mention: I hope the room begins to shimmer for you soon, as it does here in your marvelous work in Here Comes The Sun:

Sorry you’re wet, V. We’ve had a few consecutive beauts here, including today’s predicted sunshine & approaching 80F (27C). Finally!

Were seeing tiny black ants in the kitchen, and it drives me mad. Enjoy your stroll.

Oh dear! Just think how much more you will appreciate that sun when it does appear. I hope your stroll helps to lift your spirits a little.
