Quilty bag

My red bag, one of the first I made way back in the mist of time, has started to disintegrate, so I decided to use up the scraps from my latest quilt to make a new bag.  As an experiment, I lined the gusset with buckram, and am pleased to say it worked:  for a patchwork bag to stand up on its own is a triumph!  It’s far from perfect – I made a pig’s ear of the zip – but everything works, and the pockets hold the things they were designed for.

Looks good to me! I can’t do zips either 🙂 Happy New Year! Have you and Jock got company or just a comfy night in? I’m eating nibbles and waiting for the fireworks. We went to Whitby today so I’m quite happy to slouch around now.

That is lovely – are you taking orders? 😀 I’m hopeless at zips, too. Yours doesn’t look too bad.
