Winners and Losers

Blokes in  bags under bridges:
some might pity
others might scorn
some might kick them
others might bring hot soup.
If we look after the losers
we all win.

  7. Beautiful, and very true….

So often we see them there,
    ourselves unaware –
    that love exists everywhere –
    and every heart does live……
    Even those we see there…

No matter how in-firmed we become with age, or how mired down with trouble or debt or the family soap opera, it takes little effort to shake our head & really notice those /blokes in bags/under the bridge/. Your heart rules, our minds follow.

  9. So true.. and reminds me of my wife and i.. yesterday giving to a young immigrant family in the Super Walmart parking lot.. AND the closed minded folks who hate immigrants and tell them to go home in my red state area.. and every time we see them with their families passing from job to job in jobs that folks here are too ‘GOOD’ TO do.. seeing them on the side of the road.. between jobs.. asking for help and blessing others along the way… we DO NOT turn them away….

It reminds me that truly they are the humans that still have faith in humanity…..and do NOT FEAR.. ASKING for a hand that loves…:) When people get to the point they can no longer trust each other.. for help when they need it to survive.. they will eventually die off.. as they will not escape the social animal we are.. alive.. in the end at least..:)

Wonderful message in your poem, Viv. It is important to think of those without food and shelter. At this cold time of year especially!
