Quest

To search for love is fruitless –
we examine each potential lover
with predatory eye.  Is this the one?

But that’s not how life operates.
Love conquers unaware,
its significance at first unnoticed.

Love creeps like cat, belly to ground,
all senses alert for the moment
propitious for the pounce.

Then wham! Bam! Alakazam!
With blinding flash the hunt is over,
love’s quest for a victim won.

You find love when you quit looking for it, naturally, organically, in or out of balance, torrential or calm, positive or negative, moving through the way stations of Like & Lust before arriving at Love; nice re-visit, Viv.

Not sure that we are always victims in love… but I do like the imagery.

This could give a whole new meaning to the superstition about a black cat crossing one’s path. Haha. Enjoyed this immensely 🙂

  7. True that is as at times love comes when we happily do not expect it…

    Perhaps that brings it in..

the happiness we do share…without even thinking about joy we bring..:)

This was pretty funny in a very nice way. So many dreamy words about love and here you are! Making it sound exactly like a cat…. I like this!

love creeps like a cat belly to the ground….i think we can miss out always looking for the one…because of our preconcieved notions of who that one might be…love catches us when we least expect it…

Very true, Viv. I agree you cannot search for love. It finds a person when he/she is least expecting it. (Probably when both are not expecting it actually!)
