Summer blues? Ridiculous. Go make something
Finding myself uninspired and in need of geeing up, yesterday I went for a browse in Hambyance, our local patchwork shop at Hambye, a nearby village. The flowers outside cheered me up 
and inside, even more 
My browse produced yarn and fabrics to make a start on Christmas presents (!), enough for several projects, including more oven cloths, scarves for the children and a playmat quilt for a delivery man who has just become a father for the first time.
I ran into a friend and was invited for coffee, a lovely long natter and a tour of the garden which grew 
from the walls Jock built a couple of years ago
Earlier in the week I walked the grassy way and was delighted to find blackberries in progress 
and the makings of elderflower cordial 
not to be confused with 
but best of all was a solitary 
Zantedeschia or arum lily, probably a garden escape.

what a lovely day with fabric and blossoms in a lovely garden! I just finished another baby quilt and bought some more fabric to finish binding yet another one! Love making quilts for babies!

Of all the quilting projects, baby quilts are the most satisfying to make. not too big and heavy, good colours and designs. 4th generation babies are arriving thick and fast in my sister’s family.
