I have achieved nothing this week
My energy level has been at rock bottom, and now I must gird my loins (not sure what that means) to prepare for flying to Northumberland on Tuesday.
I haven’t seen my family since Chr1istmas, and expect my 12-yr-old grandson to be taller than his grandmother. I’m also looking forward to catching up with Tillybud.
I shall buy a new laptop in England – long overdue, as most of my early writing has disappeared into the ether, and software is malfunctioning or not working at all. Having learned to touch type sixty years ago, there is no way that I could change to the continental keyboard, where my typing comes out looking like Polish. A qwerty keyboard is not available here. I hope life will be easier with a new one, but am not looking forward to learning the latest version of Windows.
Hi Viv 🙂 I just read your Sea Eagle and it’s stunning! Didn’t know whether to respond there or here. Hope the journey wasn’t too harrowing, but whatever, you’ll be there now and indulging in lots of love. Say hello to Tilly for me. Our paths seldom cross these days (am I still long enough? 🙂 ) Still sinking woefully back into my north eastern world and thinking about catching up. I managed a glorious Nordic beach walk yesterday morning but I’m disoriented still.
Have a super stay! You know where I am if you have either the time or the inclination. Most of all, take good care of yourself.

I had that gird thing explained to me by the six-year-old. You wrap a cloth around your privates.

I trust things will improve and you will be on the top of your world soon. Seeing family and friends does help. You must shower your days with the things you love and enjoy….!!!!!

Wishing you a wonderful visit with your family! Good luck with the computer, I switched to a macbook about two years ago and I love it! I still use a PC at work though and windows 8 is a little frustrating…

Agh. I know this feeling! And I also need a new computer. Mine works but it overheats in very scary ways. Of course I am in a much easier situation– I am near computer stores frequently but have been too busy to go in and just make the decision. Increasingly I’ve been using mobile devices but I’ve upgraded software and now can’t access my documents! I have most elsewhere but it really Does drive one crazy. Good luck. K.

Enjoy your visit with family there in Northumberland. Haven’t been there, I think. Will Goole Map it later. Tell T.B. Hello. I miss her on 6WS’s, her posts were nice.
My computer, lap top, crashed six months ago because I dropped it to the tile floor. My replacement is a Dell with Windows 8.1. It is okay, mostly, except PDF files open in Adobe are the pits. But that works too.
Dell sells a couple lap top models that are keeping Windows 7.
I checked out a helpful book from our library, Windows 8.1 for Dummies for Seniors.
Happy 6WS !!

Thanks Jim. It’s my portable hard-drive backup that crashed to the floor, so my only backup is the small proportion that I printed out and stuck in a folder. Northumberland is gorgeous – try and make time for it when next you’re in England (well, almost Scotland!)
