Improbable Daydream

 

Pigs are flying
over a perfect world.
The moon is blue,
and fair play is universal.
Pink elephants ensure
that no-one suffers pain,
anxiety, or poverty.
Out of the blue,
Greed, dishonesty and cruelty
disappear for ever;
the dog-eat-dog society
is transformed to caring
each for each.

Would that it were so.

dVerse Poets Pub is asking us to consider Conceit, in the sense of a  figure of speech in which two seemingly dissimilar objects are grouped together with the help of similes or metaphors,
and write a poem of unlikely conjunctions.   At the same time, We Write Poems has set us daydreaming, so I have fused the two prompts.
