Coffee Time

Sam at the Poet’s Pub is asking us to write a list poem using Googlisms. As I was reading this prompt, Jock brought in my coffee, the rest is history. I had to do a lot of pruning.

Googlism for coffee time

coffee time is what i decided to do
coffee time is the place to go
coffee time is the place to be

coffee time is a great opportunity to share corporate togetherness
coffee time is designed to promote a sense of belonging and support
coffee time is a social time when we get acquainted
coffee time is enjoyed
coffee time is fun
coffee time is increasing
coffee time is here again
coffee time is held from 10am
coffee time is a casual event
coffee time is great and very funny
coffee time is very popular for catching up on the latest family news
coffee time is a 24 hours a day feast for some hyped up folk
coffee time is any time
coffee time is an important part of life
coffee time is perfect for a man or woman
coffee time is sacrosanct
coffee time is over and we have to go home

I thought this was so daft that I wasn’t going to post it, then I thought what the heck, so here it is.

  1. Sometimes poetry has to be daft! I once wrote a sonnet based on Baskin-Robbins’ flavours of ice cream, and thought it was not worthy, but since I posted it, it’s ended up being my most-commented poems. This one is perfectly in that set of poems to enjoy along with the best of Mr. Lear!

I am a fan of coffee, and especially coffee time! Even on a hot day, still drink it hot! People laugh sometimes, but I don’t care, please pour me another cup of that delicious brew.

COFFEE! As soon as I saw the word, my brain relaxed. That’s a fun word to play with. i think I shall have an early second cup.

🙂 This is neat, Viv. I’ve done that with my name, Jim, way back before the word, Googlism, was invented. I had to take the top 20 in two posts.

I just finished my own coffee and am about to head off to bed. Mrs. Jim was finishing her e-book and now is getting a new one from our library. I posted and read MSN news clips while waiting for her. We had a little snack with coffee. It’s just to turn to 3:00 AM now.

  5. Coffee time is my whole working day… Sacrosanct is the best word to describe it, I think! And now, I want a coffee… But I have been awake for 32 minutes, so I’m long overdue… 🙂

When working at Newcastle University – 10.30 coffee time was a staff room ritual. So much was learnt in that half hour of chat and I loved the kit kats! Sally

    ELEVENSES is certainly sacrosanct.
Time for a smackerel and a sit-down with caffeine.
BTW, I have just discovered the cold-fusion method, [ brewing coffee totally without any form of heat, so that there is no bitterness at all]. Tastes fabulous.

coffee time is anytime. While I do agree, it is not so often as before, and I will swerve for tea, but not the horrid flavored stuff, just some PG please. might be about that time now…
