I am trying very hard
to write something for today.
The Wordle words just won’t
connect in any way.
At the poets pub they’re thinking as children
but I am far too old.
The Octowrimo prompt today
leaves me shivering with cold:
a poem of love between
a toothbrush and a bicycle tyre
the most bizarre we’ve ever seen.
So I’ll give it best
and take a rest.
Maybe Monday will be better.
I’ve written too much poetry lately, two thirds of the way through Octpowrimo. But being a determined type, I will see it through to the bitter end.
I also found them difficult, so I just forgot about them until today. And then something came to mind with my first cup of coffee.

Aww (sending you hugs), I totally know what you mean about the OctPoWriMo prompt, that had me stumpted too; but lovely little ditty. 🙂

Oh, don’t we all have days like that! It can be a real challenge to get the words in context.

I didn’t even KNOW there was an Octo challenge until I read this!! Keep on going, Viv. This statement of sorry observations actually is quite clever. I liked it! Amy

You have managed an intriguing poem nevertheless. A toothbrush and a bicycle tire? That would send me to the couch for a nap!

Well done Viv! When the words won’t come, choose to use other words. And if this is the poem you came up with when you weren’t writing a poem…I’d say you’re staring down age rather well.

I don’t know about the toothbrush and the bicycle tire…that would certainly challenge my creativity, although there are possibilities for a child’s poem. As for being too old…come on! Age is all in the mind (and body)!!! :0)

It’s this body that’s old and very decrepit – the mind is about 16 years old!

Ha.. sometimes inspiration is hard to find. But I actually think the bizarre thoutght of a bicycle tyre and a toothbrush could be made into a childrens poem (bizarre and children can go well tohgether) — Have a happy Sunday.
