A drunkard prophet
                                                                              predicted thunder
for  the day the baby was due.

As the fool had expected,
the baby was born
into a stormy world.

                                                                              The sleepy infant
                                                                              took one look,
said blimey, I don’t fancy this.
I’ll go back for a bit til it’s over.
The mother was vexed –
she went over the edge
at the prospect
of repeating the process.

                                                                              Oh okay, said the child,
                                                                              If that’s how you feel.
                                                                              what a bind,
                                                                              but he turned full circle.

With one last trump
the thunder was spent
as born-again baby appeared.

All was well in the end,
                                                                              the world mended its ways.
and they call the child Thor to remember.
