Yesterday’s Wordle being on the dark side, I redress the balance here with one of the great joys of the season, written for Poetic Bloomings “Invitation to the Dance” prompt. Image from Saturday’s Show
As September draws to a close
excitement and anticipation mount.
The long-awaited day arrives
and Strictly Come Dancing* is back.
Swirls of sequins and long slim legs;
rippling muscles on bare manly chests;
overweight but game twirlers,
glorious athleticism,
rhythm and drama,
grace and beauty,
humour butts in with inept steps.
All is fuel to our enjoyment.
Four weird judges wave their arms,
bandy words with gay abandon
but in the end justice prevails
and by Christmas we will vote
the best pair of dancers
from an eclectic bunch.
It’s over, and we sigh.
* The British equivalent of Dancing with the Stars
I’m a Dancing On Ice girl myself 🙂

‘Tis a small world ~ our version is beginning tonight! Thank God, no Simon Cowell . . .

Unfortunately, our “free” network stations are now overrun by talent and “reality” shows, most of which are scripted by producers, including outcomes of competitions.
And thanks so much for giving us Simon Cowell… he is such a…. gift. (ugh)
I know many folks who keep up wtih all of them, including the Kardashians and other made-up TV stars. Ironic that I tend to watch BBC-America! Nicely done, Viv. Amy

so are ours, and most of them are crap. But Strictly and Masterchef are in a class of their own, and Simon Cowell has never been near them!

I love every moment and every single sequin, Viv. I’ll even tolerate Brucie 🙂
