for Haiku Heights, Day 20 image Audrey Hepburn

The smartest colour
to adorn many women
is as dark as night.

Humour that is black
is nearly always offensive –
not funny at all.

I still wear black (too much) but haven’t seen my pearls in ages. Very nice.
If you have a moment, have a looka t mine:

  2. Good haiku but I’m not sure I agree with the second one…and you know me, always worried about offending people.

  3. magicalmysticalteacher says:

Just for the sake of argument, I’ll take a different approach: I rather like some black humor. Not all. But some.

    The Black Rebozo

  4. Sumana Roy says:

Oh, thank you! Loved Audrey, loved the film, hated the vacuous George Peppard . . . still remember! Remember being so ‘jealous’ in my teenage years of whom I believed the ‘goody’ girls of the generation just kind’of ‘ahead of me: Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly and Ingrid Bergman!! With a huge smile I grew up to recognize all had been ‘more’ than normal!! Still read their auto/biographies with a smile . . . !! Oh still wear black and pearls also!!!!!!

  6. Usha Menon says:

Great to see Audrey Hepburn. Both the Haiku are fabulous.

  7. Lynda says:

    These are well done, Viv.
And OH, I do love Audry! 😉

  8. Locomente says:

    I loved both..
Talks about unrelated things yet thoughtfully connected by the prompt!

  9. siggiofmaine says:

I agree with both…and loved seeing the photo of Audrey Hepbern when I opened your bog site !
My mother always told me “Black is smart…with white pearls of course !”
Thanks for the great takes on the prompt…the second one is, for me, a great one…said so well

  10. colonialist says:

I’d agree wholeheartedly with both of those!
