Fame at last!

That wonderful, nurturing poetic garden http://poeticbloomings2.wordpress.com/has done me the honour of an interview with Marie Elena, which you can read if you’re so inclined.  I’d no idea she’d use every one of the poems I sent her to choose from, expecting one or two only to be used.

Viv — this is a great interview … your sharing and candor is delightful, as well as your accomplishments and attitude … keeping you young!! Thank you ~~

  2. What a wonderful interview. I so enjoyed learning more about you! I especially applaud you for obtaining your degree in French. Someday, I hope to follow in your footsteps on that one. It’s on my bucket list. …that and living for a wee bit in France. Why are you living my life??! Just kidding — I do find you fascinating and you give me hope that I will reach those goals myself. I’ve got to get the kids through college and finish out my career first, though.

Only the first part of my Ou studies was French, leading to Dip.Fr.Open, but it still counted towards my BA Open. One of the beauties of Open University study is that you can tailor courses to whatever interests you: I did 3 French, 4 Creative Writing and one Meteorology! You can do it a bit at a time, take a year off – as we did, to build this house – and generally have a ball! Lots of people work full time while studying. I was lucky, and didn’t have to, but I well remember a secretary at work studying in her lunchtimes and getting us to proofread her assignments!

  4. Congrats on that. It’s always great to be noticed.
