For Open Link Night, at http://dversepoets.com/2012/05/01/openlinknight-week-42/
Tashtoo seems to be asking for campaigning poetry. I am prone to posting the odd political rant on here, and this one is a re-post from last year, maybe even more relevant now.
Bankers and politicians are mundulating again. “They” say that if we tax these outrageous bonuses the bankers will simply go abroad. So what? Do “they” seriously think these inflated egos will be wanted elsewhere? Do “they” really think the greedy grabbers will be missed? On the BBC Breakfast news show this morning (January 2011) I saw…
“Grudging go-ahead for bankers’ bonuses”
a headline in the Times today.
What did they do with all that money
that last year’s taxpayers had to pay
to bail out all those failing banks?
Failing because of their cupidity,
exacerbated by crass stupidity.
Do they deserve their grotesque plunder?
An emphatic NO resounds.
Let them go under
or go away.
Mundulaton, a neologism as defined by Harry Nicholson aka Dhruvasimha:
a.Obsolescent: the growth and decay of systems, as in worlds, empires and religions.
b. Now in vulgar use for anything that writhes in a confused manner.
c. Casting about for excuses.
d. Recently (2009) In a defamatory sense: allusion to explanations of MPs expense claims.
From L. mundus: world, and L. undulant: wave like, rising and falling.
Political Rant Poetry – an important genre which should be wielded more frequently. Onya Viv! 🙂

The bankers were a verified source of the economic blowup that has caused much of the economic mess we’ve seen now for over four years. When will people learn that taxingbthem will not make them go away. They will still want to work. There’s something very rotten in the state where these crooks can get away with so much deception and so many lies. Thank you for the rant! 🙂

Very true, let them die. The banks should fry no matter how much they cry.
