WORDS, a eulogy

I love synonyms,

Antonyms and homonyms

Glyphs and schwa and  allographs

Morphemes and phonemes,

themes and rhemes

and foreign terms

But most of all,

I just love words.

for One Single Impression prompt 188, Language
http://onesingleimpression.blogspot.com/ this is one of the first poems I ever wrote.

I had to look up ‘schwa.’ My English teachers missed it, I’m glad you didn’t. Seems I’ll always be learning from you. I too love words. It would be impossible to love poetry and not love words, but we, as poets, are always seeking the “right” words. You found them here, Viv. Not only a poem, but a tribute to words.
