patterns for march14 challenge

Just a few of my quilts, with patterns found in everyday sights, adapted, played around with to produce something useful.  The March Challenge prompt is pattern, and for once I can express it as well  in pictures as in words.

Tiled floors and chimney pots
rows of trees and the sails of yachts;
shadows through railings
or dancing on ceilings.
All of these are grist to my mill:
patterns for quilting
that call for my skill.

    Viv, I don’t know how I missed this entry earlier in the month – but I am glad I did not miss it altogether! I LOVE quilts … they remind me of childhood, a favorite sitter and my grandmother. I have one with material of from all the outfits my grandmother sewed for me! It is quite a treasure for me.

    Yours shows beautiful work with a pairing of prose … bravo! Thank you for sharing …

    Thank you everyone for your kind comments. The words came easily – the hardest part was assembling the photomontage!

    As soon as I saw “Patterns” as the prompt, I began looking forward to your posting. Sandy and I just stared in awe at your quilts. Amazing work, not only with the cloth, but also the words. Some things just fit, and you understand patterns as few ever will.

  6. Such colour! You have a rich sense of it, Viv. Those contrasts make me feel like firing up the kiln again, after already spending the morning with it.

    Hi VivinFrance!

    Oh! How beautiful your patterns are, indeed, and so brings back the memories of
    my grandmother making her quilts from all of the left over pieces of fabric from
    the clothes she wore. Thank you so much!
