horror for March12 challenge

I have a horror
of gratuitous horror
in movies or books

Why frighten myself
with fiction designed to shock?
Life’s scary enough.

I, too, have gone from Stephen King and serial killer novels (I was always facinated by their total lack of guilt and compassion) to writing an inspirational blog. No, I had enough of the Dark in books and life to go seeking it at this point in my life. Too much out there that goes bump in the night! hugs, pat

Well put, Viv. Which is why I rarely watch tv. (The radio’s quite scarey enough.)

When I was a teen, I totally loved horror movies & books. Stephen King was my best friend. Then I became cognizant of the world. Horror doesn’t do it for me any more.

My feelings exactly. There is enough of the real thing without seeking vicarious thrills. Never could understand the allure of horror movies.
