There is an egg:
inside it, life as yet unlived.
Mother hen clucks and broods.
Tap, tap, tap -
the shell cracks and then
a fluffy ball emerges
to grow into a hen.

I just came back from a restaurant that has a chicken theme, so I had to chuckle at this. And the birthing of a little “chicklet,” what a wonder to watch as they crack their way out! Love, Amy
Nice touch on the circle of life!
I miss my chicks. Thanks for this sad and lovely reminder.
This is a cute one…and the picture is adorable, too! (Who wouldn’t love baby chicks?
)
I love this.
I love the tap, tap, tap. At our county fair this summer my niece and I watched exactly this scenario – it took a long time – but the chick tap tapped his way out of the shell. Lovely image.
Probably the cutest one I’ve read so far (I love newly hatched chickens!). Very nice piece in all its simplicity!
Too cute! :3
This is adorably cute-loved the gif complementing the piece:-)
How cute, and the chicken came first.
Ah but which came first? Nicely done though Viv.
