Ralph Waldo Emerson said
For every minute you remain angry,
you give up sixty seconds
of peace of mind”
There is no health in rage.
Better far save anger
for the horrors of war,
injustice and cruelty.
Keep the peace within
the home, without rancour.

Wow! I always marvel at your writing, but this is special
Yes. Viv, just yes…so well said…this needs to be in the, “text books.” Thank you.
Sadly, not all homes are safe and peaceful. I’ve seen a few where a battlefield might be safer.
That said, your lines are beautiful, touching and wise. May your home be a haven of peace.
Beautiful and wise.
Ah, the words of a wise woman. So correct and nicely expressed.
Good advice, but easier said than done for some people.
it is a trade off…and anger only damages further the fragile existence….
These are definitely wise words, Viv. Good words to keep on one’s bathroom mirror! Smiles.
Sound sentiments. Sound poem.
Couldn’t agree more Viv – well said
ha – Emerson def. did the math right and anger leads just nowhere.. here’s to a peaceful new year
