Conflict

Conflict kills
at once or by inches.
Avoid it.

In the Imaginary Garden with Real Toads, Mama Zen writes that the nub of a good story is the introduction of conflict, and she suggests we write a conflict poem in fewer than 30 words.  I avoid conflict whenever I can, even in my stories.

  4. Ouch, that’s so true, Viv! It’s the pacifist way – however, I do enter into conflict if I witness “the little guy” being bullied. There’s something about my aura that scares grown men when I let it out… But yes, avoiding conflict is good advice. Peace, Amy
