Yippee, we had summer this week.
I moan about the weather often enough, so it’s only fair to applaud the wonderful week of sunshine we’ve had with (say it quietly) absolutely no rain. Out twenty year old fan has come out of the loft been cleaned-up and has shushed and swished the hot air around the house in the afternoons. For the first time this year, bare arms and legs have been comfortable, and a hat obligatory outside.
These rather weird pictures were taken during a visit to the acquarium at Granville with our young visitors.
where did that sealion go? He was there when I focused.
In the hall of minerals and shells

You are finally having summer…and we are praying for rain with our 105 degree weather here in Kansas! (:>)
Gorgeous pictures, and SO happy you finally got your summer! We, in turn, got a bit of much-needed and quite welcome rain. Breeze, yes, we live where you are not allowed to hang laundry out to dry (indeed!), and I love the smell of hung laundry, especially when it needs to be ironed. Nothing like it! Love and sunshine to you, Amy
Thanks Amy. Hanging laundry indoors, even in a double aspect room with all the windows open on a breezy day, misses out on the bleaching/freshening effect of sunshine. Most old houses hereabouts have attics, and the laundry is often hung there, sometimes for days on end!
I want to go to the Hall of Minerals and Shells with Jim. (ssh, don’t tell anyone!)
Woohoo! We too have had summer this week and yep having some sun does make a difference,we feel much happier!
I would like to take my young son to a aquarium,it looks like fun
You can have my summer (HOT!).
Hi Viv ~~ I am glad that you finally are having some REAL summer now.
This morning I especially liked your Hall of Minerals and Shells. Is this some of your art work that I missed on one of your prior posts or what is it? Again, I like it.
Enjoy your summer “’cause it may not last” (“But you better hurry ).
..
The hall of minerals was part of the Aquarium.
Always love seeing photos from kids — such interesting perspectives!
Yeaq. but 74-year-old kids? Time I knew better.
Hooray for you! I just adore summer too!
I have been stung by the lionfish. More than once. thanks for reminding me. Cool photos.
When we were diving in Seychelles, we were told that a lionfish sting would be fatal – you really are bucking the trend.
We have had almost too much summer here. Every day has been over 100 degrees.
Why can we all not have temperate climates with a modicum of rainfall?
Love that last pic.
We had rain last night and it’s cooler today, but not raining
We had summer too – it was fantastic! We still have it today, but at a more bearable temperature.
Yes, the breeze today makes it very pleasant, as well as drying the laundry!
